Cawley earns September SEC Rider of the Month

Freshman Taylor Cawley of the No. 3 Auburn equestrian team has been named SEC Rider of the Month for September, the conference announced Thursday. Cawley earned the honor for her performances in both Fences and Flat.

AUBURN, Ala. – Freshman Taylor Cawley of the No. 3 Auburn equestrian team has been named SEC Rider of the Month for September, the conference announced Thursday. Cawley earned the honor for her performances in both Fences and Flat.

The award is the first monthly honor of Cawley's collegiate career.

In Fences, Cawley posted Auburn's top score on both days of her first collegiate meets, with an 88 and a 94. She was named Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) both days. Her 27-point victory over her Bridgewater (Sept. 25) opponent was the largest win margin on the team. Cawley averaged a 91 with an average win margin of 15.5 points.

On the Flat, Cawley went 2-0-0, opening the weekend with an 86 in a win over Lynchburg (Sept. 24). She followed with a team-best 92 against Bridgewater and earned MOP honors in that meet. She averaged an 89 with an average win margin of 8 points.

Auburn hosts top-ranked South Carolina on Friday, Oct. 9, at the Auburn University Equestrian Center.
