AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn men’s tennis returns to action Thursday at the ITA South Sectional Championships, held through Sunday at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center in Tallahassee, Florida.
Tyler Bowers, Manel Lazaro and Patrik Munkhammar will represent the Tigers in singles competition, while Bowers and Freddy Blaydes will team up in doubles.
Lazaro has compiled a 4-1 singles record this fall and is coming off an impressive run at the ITA Southern Regional Championships, where he advanced to the semifinals. Bowers and Blaydes also enjoyed success at the ITA Southern Regional Championships last month, reaching the doubles quarterfinals.
The ITA South Sectional Championships serve as a qualifier for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, scheduled for Nov. 17-22 in Athens, Georgia. The four singles semifinalists and two quarterfinal playoff winners will earn automatic bids to the NCAA Singles Championship, while the two doubles finalists and third-place team will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship.
