Education: Steele received his B.A. in Government from Wofford College (SC) in 1984. He has earned additional hours towards a Master's degree from the University of Nebraska.

Job Responsibilities: Administrative responsibility and oversight for all 15 Auburn athletic facilities including the care, maintenance, security and operations.

Past Experience: Steele came to Auburn as the Director of Athletic Facilities in August of 2005. He was named Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Operations in February of 2006. Prior to Auburn, Steele served six years as Assistant Athletic Director for Operations at Kansas State University. He spent seven years as an Event Management Specialist at the University of Nebraska prior to his stint at Kansas State University. Steele was Director of Athletics at NCAA Division II Newberry College (SC) before beginning his tenure at the University of Nebraska.

Personal: Born August 31, 1962 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Steele is an Adjunct Instructor for the University of Southern Mississippi and Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) teaching Department of Homeland Security, Stadium and Arena Safety and Security training. He holds professional memberships in the International Association of Assembly Managers and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
