Former All-SEC guard KT Harrell returned to The Plains and is set to begin his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the 2020-21 season.

Harrell, a two-year letterwinner for the Tigers, scored 1,196 career points at Auburn - the most by any player to play just two seasons in program history. He currently ranks 25th among the program’s all-time leading scorers.

His two seasons of 648 and 548 points rank sixth and 17th, respectively, in single-season program history.

The Montgomery, Ala. native holds the sixth-highest career scoring average in program history at 18.4 points per game. His 83.9 career free throw percentage ranks second in the Auburn record books, while his 3-point percentage of .400 is sixth.

Harrell, the 2015 SEC scoring champion, was a second-team all-conference selection during his senior campaign, which included Auburn’s run in the 2015 SEC Tournament when the Tigers won three games in three days for the first time in 30 years en route to an appearance in the semifinals.

Following his collegiate career, Harrell played overseas for four seasons in Belgium, Italy and Turkey.

Harrell was the Gatorade Alabama Player of the Year and was ranked in the top 100 nationally by various scouting services while playing at Brewbaker Tech Magnet High School.

Harrell received a bachelor’s degree from Auburn in psychology in 2015 and is currently working towards a master’s degree in adult education.

He and his wife, Krista, have a son, Kamden.
