Education: Smith earned his Bachelor of Science in Fitness, Conditioning and Performance from Auburn University in 2015. He went on to complete his Master of Science in Physical Activity and Health from Auburn University in 2017. He also holds his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), and Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 2 certifications.

Job Responsibilities: As Assistant Director of Sports Performance, Smith is responsible for the development and implementation of annual strength and conditioning programs for Men’s and Women’s Golf and Men’s Tennis.

Experience: Smith has spent his entire professional career at Auburn University within Olympic Sports Performance. He began as a Student Intern from 2014–2015, where he led Men’s and Women’s Golf while assisting full-time performance coaches across Olympic sports.

He continued as a Graduate Assistant from 2015–2017, overseeing Men’s and Women’s Golf as well as Track & Field and Cross Country.

From 2017–2024, Smith served in a full-time role, leading Men’s and Women’s Golf and Soccer. Since 2024, he has continued in a full-time capacity, directing Sports Performance for Men’s and Women’s Golf and Men’s Tennis.

Personal: Smith is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He is happily married to his wife, Sara, a Houston, Texas native, Auburn graduate, and animal lover.
