Education: Monique Holland graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Alabama State University in Therapeutic Recreation. While at ASU, Holland was an Academic All-American and served as the captain of the Hornet’s Women’s Basketball team and vice-president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She earned her Master of Science degree in Sport Administration from Georgia State University.

Job Responsibilities: As a member of the executive staff, Holland provides leadership and administrative oversight for AuburnYOU programs (academics, counseling and sports psychology, nutrition. student-athlete enhancement, sports medicine and sports performance) which represents all the resources and support systems available to ensure Auburn’s student-athletes succeed in competition, the classroom and in life.

Holland also serves as the department’s Deputy Title IX Coordinator and oversees all diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Holland provides sport administrative oversight to gymnastics, women’s basketball, softball and men’s and women’s swimming and diving.

Experience: Holland began her career as an assistant basketball coach at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia. She continued her career in athletic administration at Georgia Tech, Clayton State, the NCAA National Office and Georgia State prior to serving as the Director of Athletics at her alma mater, Alabama State University. Prior to arriving on the Plains, she served as the Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director for Administration at SMU in Dallas. Holland has served on many conference and national committees and is a graduate of various institutes including Sport Management Institute (SMI), Leadership Enhancement Institute (LEI), and D1-A (currently Lead1) Institute.

Personal: Holland is a native of St. Joseph, Missouri.
