Freshman Season (2006-07)
Swam in the 400m IM at the U.S. Senior National Championships... Also swam the anchor leg for the 29th-place 400m free relay team... Competed for Auburn at the American Short Course Championships... Finished 12th in the 200 IM (1:52.01) and seventh in the 400 IM (3:59.08)... Also competed in the 200 breast (2:06.79).

Attended University High School... Swam for Spokane Area Swimming under coach Todd Marsh... National Honor Society.

Full name is Marshel Lane Renz... Parents are Phil and Shelly Renz... Born on May 14, 1988... Has a sister, Mercedee and four brothers, Phillip, Garrett, Kyle and Stewart... Brothers Phillip and Garrett played basketball at Southwestern Assemblies of God University and brother Stewart was a gymnast at the University of Washington.
