Competed in the 100m breast at the 2008 United States Olympic Trials... Finished 37th, posting a time of 1:03.44... At the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Wash., Silva earned two honorable mention All-America Honors in the 400 medley relay and 100 breast... Swam the breaststroke leg (53.94) on the 400 medley relay that finished ninth with a time of 3:08.60.... Individually at NCAA[apos]s Silva swam to a 15th-place finish in the 100 breast (54.03), 33rd in the 200 breast (2:01.43) and 42nd in the 200 IM (1:49.29)... At the SEC Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Silva swam the breaststroke leg (24.10) on the SEC Champion 200 medley relay (1:24.81), along with the breaststroke leg (53.43) on the SEC Champion 400 medley relay (3:08.57)... Also won an individual SEC title in the 100 breast, posting a time of 53.66... Swam to an eighth place finish in the 200 breast (1:59.62) at SECs.
Freshman Season (2006-07)
Swam in the 100m breaststroke in the U.S. Senior National Championships, finishing 35th in prelims with a 1:04.75... Competed for Auburn at the American Short Course Championships... Finished eighth in the 50 free with a time of 20.61 after posting a 20.56 in preliminaries... Finished third in the 100 breast with a NCAA provisional time of 54.52... Also competed in the 200 breast (2:03.15) and 200 IM (1:51.31).
