Brett Whiteside currently serves as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Player Management, where he plays a key role in shaping the student-athlete experience through revenue-sharing operations, NIL strategy, education, and compliance.
Whiteside most recently served as the Executive Director of On To Victory, the official NIL collective of the Auburn Tigers, where he led the collective’s efforts to support Auburn student-athletes through Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities. Under his leadership, On To Victory became a national leader in NIL execution, fundraising, and donor engagement—contributing significantly to Auburn’s recruiting success and student-athlete support infrastructure.
Before his return to Auburn, Whiteside was the Chief Recruiting Officer at the University of Missouri during the 2021 season, working under Head Coach Eliah Drinkwitz. The two previously worked together at Auburn in 2010 and 2011. At Missouri, Whiteside directed all recruiting and external operations for the football program and helped secure back-to-back top recruiting classes in school history.
From 2013 to 2020, Whiteside was a key member of the Auburn football staff, serving as Director of Recruiting Operations and later as Director of Football Operations and Administration. In those roles, he managed team budgets, scheduling, travel logistics, and daily operations, while serving as the primary liaison to athletics administration, Tigers Unlimited, the business office, compliance, media relations, and various university departments.
During his time at Auburn, the Tigers won SEC Western Division titles in 2013 and 2017, captured the 2013 SEC Championship, and made an appearance in the BCS National Championship Game.
Prior to that, he served as Director of Player Personnel at Arkansas State (2012) and began his career as a student assistant in recruiting and operations at Auburn from 2007–11.
A native of Southside, Alabama, Whiteside holds a bachelor’s degree from Arkansas State (2012) and a master’s degree in Administration of Higher Education from Auburn (2015). He is on track to complete his Ph.D. in Administration of Higher Education from Auburn in May 2026.
He is married to the former Natalie Slaten, also an Auburn graduate. They have two sons, Davis and Kason.
