Six Tigers Receive Postseason SEC Recognition

AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The Southeastern Conference announced its postseason awards for equestrian Tuesday and six student-athletes of the Auburn equestrian team were recognized.

Freshman Kara Kaufmann picked up three honors for her efforts in Horsemanship this season. The Belvidere, N.J., product was named the SEC Freshman Horsemanship Rider of the Year, while also earned All-SEC and Freshman All-SEC nods in the discipline.

Kaufmann leads all Tigers with nine wins in Horsemanship this year, having a 9-3-1 overall mark in the event for AU. She finished with a 5-1-1 record during SEC regular season action and had one MOP on the year. Throughout the year, Kaufmann earned a season-best 76 on two occasions with both coming on the road.

Senior Ashley Foster was placed on both Equitation Over Fences and Equitation On The Flat All-SEC teams. The honors are both the second of her career. She has a combined record of 21-6-1 overall so far this season, including a 12-2 record in Fences. Her overall wins total and Fences wins total leads the Tigers. The Brookeville, Md., native has a 9-4-1 mark in Flat. She has earned six MOP nods this year with three in each event.

Tory Hoft earned a spot on the Flat All-SEC team for the second-straight year as she's second overall on the squad with a 9-4-1 record in the discipline. The senior from Raleigh, N.C., has had a great final year in the event, stringing together a seven-match winning streak through the middle of the season.

Sophomores Caitlin Boyle and Hayley Iannotti also earned All-SEC recognition with Boyle being placed on the Fences team and Iannotti on the Flat. Boyle's placement is her second-consecutive postseason honor in the event as she holds a 10-4 record in Fences. The Hampshire, Ill., native has earned five MOP nods so far this season in the discipline.

Iannotti, of Wellington, Fla., has had an outstanding year on Flat for the Tigers, leading the squad with a 10-1 overall mark. She scored a season-best 89 points in her career debut in the event as she topped her Texas A&M opponent in October.

Joining the All-SEC crew is junior Alexa Rivard for her efforts in Reining. Rivard, who hails from Suwanee, Ga., picked up her second-straight conference honor, having three victories and one tie vs. SEC opponents in the regular season. She currently leads the team with a 9-4-1 mark in the event.

Auburn continues the postseason at the NCEA National Championship, competing as the No. 3 seed overall in Waco, Texas. The Tigers will begin competition Friday, April 14, taking on the winner of No. 6 South Carolina/No. 11 South Dakota State.
