#3 Auburn vs. Alabama

AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The No. 3 Auburn equestrian team opens its home schedule Friday, hosting Alabama in an exhibition meet beginning at 3 p.m. CT at the Auburn University Horse Center. The meet will feature head-to-head competition in hunt seat only.

"It's always fun to come home and I'm looking forward to seeing our fans out here Friday," head coach Greg Williams said. "This Alabama team keeps getting better every year and their coaches do a great job. There should be some great rides Friday and I'm ready to see how we handle the day."

PROMOTIONS
It's a Fall Festival at the AU Horse Center Friday for fans in attendance. In addition to the normal pony rides and bounce house, there will also be a prize wheel for fans as well as other fall-themed activities. Admission for all Auburn equestrian meets is free.

AUBURN LINEUP
Auburn (1-0) and Alabama will compete six riders in each event instead of the usual five.

In Equitation Over Fences, undefeated juniors Caitlin Boyle, Hayley Iannotti, and Alex Ladove highlight the team's projected lineup. The trio will be joined by senior Caitlin Creel and classmate Ashton Alexander, while freshman Gia Rinaldi will make her Auburn debut.

The lineup remains relatively the same in Equitation on the Flat. The only change is sophomore Becky Kozma is slated to compete instead of Ladove. Freshman Ericka Koscinski will ride the demo for the judges prior to the start of the event.

WESTERN INTRASQUAD
In addition to the competition between Auburn and Alabama hunt seat riders, the Auburn western corps will compete in an intrasquad Friday afternoon.

"The great thing is that Alabama has started a western program, but they are not ready to go on the road quite yet," Williams said. "Friday will give us coaches an opportunity to see our youthful roster go head-to-head against each other on talented horses. It will be a great measuring stick for us on how they compete."
