AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The No. 2 Auburn equestrian team is set to face its fourth Top 5 team in the last five meets Saturday, hosting No. 5 SMU at the Auburn University Equestrian Center. The two squads will go head-to-head at 11 a.m. CT and admission is free.

"SMU is coming off a couple wins and will be looking for an upset and I'm looking forward to having them here this weekend," head coach Greg Williams said. "Our team has maintained their attitude and are ready for another test at home. We aren't taking anything for granted and working hard every day to reach our goals. Nothing would feel better than putting together another solid meet Saturday."

PROMOTIONS
It's Kid's Club Day at the Auburn University Equestrian Center! There will be pony rides, a mini jump course, cornhole games, and other activities for the young fans in attendance to enjoy. In addition, there will be Kid's Club information and an "Auburn Equestrian Experience" raffle.

Saturday is also the program's Alumni Day!

AUBURN LINEUP
The Auburn competition lineup remains junior and freshman heavy, featuring eight juniors and four freshmen. Joining the group will be two seniors and two sophomores.

Junior All-Americans Ashton Alexander, Caitlin Boyle, and Hayley Iannotti are set to compete in both Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat for the Tigers. Boyle leads the team with a 17-4-1 overall record on the year, including a 9-2-0 mark in Flat. Iannotti also has nine wins in Flat with 14 overall, while Alexander has 11 between the two events.

Joining the trio in Equitation Over Fences is classmate Alex Ladove and freshman Carly Hoft. Ladove, a 2017 All-American in the event, has five victories in the event. Hoft has competed for team score twice for the Tigers this season and is 2-0-0.

Senior Caitlin Creel and sophomore Becky Kozma will ride in Equitation on the Flat for Auburn. The pair have three wins each in the event this year.

On the Western side of competition, freshman Deanna Green earned the starting nod in both Horsemanship and Reining vs. the Bulldogs. Green is tied for first on the team with eight victories in Horsemanship and owns five MOP nods in the event. Redshirt junior Kelsey Jung also has eight victories in Horsemanship with one MOP.

Junior Lauren Diaz, sophomore Kara Kaufmann, and freshman Taylor Searles are set to join Green and Jung in Horsemanship. Diaz has six wins to her credit, while Searles has won three of her last four match ups.

Senior Alexa Rivard and junior Betsy Brown highlight the Reining. Rivard has now set both the career wins (36) and career meets competed (58) records, having five victories this season in the event. Brown leads all Tigers with seven wins.

Freshman Terri-June Granger is second on the team with six wins and leads Auburn with four MOPs. Junior Blair McFarlin will also go for the squad in Reining and has four wins on the year.

UP NEXT
Auburn caps the regular season at home Saturday, March 10, hosting Fresno State at the Auburn University Equestrian Center. The Tigers and the Bulldogs will face off at 11 a.m. CT and the squad will honor its senior class at intermission.
