OXFORD, Miss. - No. 10 Auburn softball fell to Ole Miss 3-2 in eight innings Sunday in the series finale at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. The Tigers still took the series 2-1 for their third-straight SEC series win.

Auburn has taken the last eight series from the Rebels and have never dropped a series played in Oxford. In total, the Tigers have won 15-of-18 series played.

Sunday's game featured a low-scoring battle between Auburn pitchers Chardonnay Harris and Ashlee Swindle and Ole Miss Ace Kaitlin Lee.

Harris made her first-career road SEC start and tossed 3.0 innings before being lifted in the fourth for Ashlee Swindle. Swindle (2-1) pitched the remainder of the contest allowing two runs on eight hits over 4.2 innings of work.

Auburn tallied six hits on Lee led by Tannon Snow's two. The sophomore from Chino Hills, Calif. has four multi-hit games on the season.

Trailing 2-0 in the sixth, Courtney Shea doubled to left-center to plate Casey McCrackin and cut the deficit in half. The Tigers then tied the game in the seventh in wild fashion.

Down to their last out, Auburn pinch runner Jenna Olszewski took advantage of a throwing error by Ole Miss Catcher Autumn Gillespie as she tried to check down to first. Olszewski watched as the throw went wild and promptly scooted home from third to tie the game at 2-2. After Morgan Podany walked to complete the at-bat, Victoria Draper nearly gave Auburn the outright lead as she singled up the middle, however Justus Perry was thrown out at home on the play.

Ole Miss then walked it off in the bottom of the eighth inning as Amanda Roth hit a solo homerun to left with two outs.

The Tigers dropped to 33-7, 7-5 in SEC play while Ole Miss improved to 17-14, 3-9.

Lee (11-6) picked up the win, tossing a complete 8.0-inning game. Kylan Becker led the way at the plate for the Rebels in a 4-for-4 performance.

Auburn returns to the Plains for their next four games beginning Wednesday, April 4, against Kennesaw State. The Tigers will then host No. 7 Tennessee in a three-game series Friday-Sunday.
