Auburn in the NFL: Week 10 recapAuburn in the NFL: Week 10 recap

It was a signature day for a pair of Auburn rookies on Sunday. Cornerback Jamel Dean (above) recorded his first NFL interception Sunday, and wide receiver Darius Slayton enjoyed a breakout performance with 121 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

That and more in this week's Auburn in the NFL recap.

BEST OF WEEK 10

Montravius Adams, DT, Green Bay Packers
For the second straight week, Adams made a significant impact for Green Bay in the team's 24-16 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The third-year defensive lineman finished with two tackles, a pass deflection and a fumble recovery in the second quarter that led to a touchdown. He has now played in all 10 games this season with two starts.

Peyton Barber, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Barber hadn't scored since Week 5, but his 1-yard touchdown run on Sunday proved to the game-winning in a 30-27 win over the Arizona Cardinals. The fourth-year running back carried it 11 times for 43 yards, averaging 3.91 yards per carry. He now has four rushing touchdowns on the season, one shy of his career high set last year.

Jamel Dean, CB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Barber's go-ahead touchdown would have not have happened if not for Dean, his former teammate at Auburn. The rookie cornerback intercepted Kyler Murray the drive before to keep the Buccaneers within striking distance. Dean, making his second appearance at cornerback, recorded two tackles, one tackle for loss, four pass deflections and the interception. With a grade of 95.5, he earned a spot on PFF's Week 10 Team of the Week

Note: Dean is the first Buccaneer since passes defended totals became available in 1999 to record four or more passes defended in two consecutive games. He is also the first since Jalen Ramsey in 2016 to achieve this across the NFL.

Darius Slayton, WR, New York Giants
For the second time in three weeks, Slayton caught two touchdowns in Sunday's loss to the New York Jets. It was a breakout performance for the rookie wide receiver, who set career highs in receptions (10) and yards (121). After missing the first two weeks due to injury, Slayton now has 27 catches for 394 yards and five touchdowns in eight games. His five receiving touchdowns are tied for first among rookie receivers and tied for ninth in the NFL.
