AUBURN, Ala. – Following an outstanding season both in the pool and in the classroom, the Auburn swimming and diving program had 28 student-athletes selected as Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming Coaches Associate of America (CSCAA), the organization announced Wednesday.

Eleven of the 28 selections were named to the First Team, which recognizes student-athletes who achieved a GPA of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at the NCAA Championships.

The others – those who had a GPA of 3.50 or higher and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at an NCAA Regional or Zone Diving qualifier but did not qualify for the NCAA Championships – earned Honorable Mention honors.

On the women's side, Auburn had 17 total selections and eight First Team selections. The eight on the First Team included Robyn Clevenger, Carly Cummings, Claire Fisch, Alison Maillard, Jessica Merritt, Julie Meynen, Sonnele Oeztuerk and Abbey Webb.

The Auburn men had 11 total selections with Santiago Grassi, Aryan Makhija and Lleyton Smith all earning First Team honors.

Last week, the CSCAA recognized both the Auburn men's and women's teams as part of the Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2020 semester. Teams were selected on basis of their Spring GPA, which was 3.23 for the men and 3.58 for the women.
