Carl Lawson and Daniel Thomas spearheaded Week 11's performances. Lawson recorded five tackles and a sack while Thomas pulled down his first NFL interception. That and more in this week's NFL rundown.

BEST OF WEEK 11

Derrick Brown, DL, Carolina Panthers
For the first time in his NFL career, Brown failed to record a tackle Sunday. But it doesn't mean the rookie defensive lineman didn't still impact the game. He played 79 percent of the snaps for a Carolina defense that shut out the Detroit Lions in a 20-0 win. He spent most of his day going after the quarterback and finished with two quarterback hits, including the play below. You've got to love the effort.

Carl Lawson, DE, Cincinnati Bengals
Lawson continued his breakout season Sunday with five tackles, a sack and two quarterback hits. The fourth-year defensive end has missed 13 games over the last two seasons due to injury, but he's healthy this year and producing at a high-level. He already has 26 total tackles, surpassing his previous career high, and 4.5 sacks through the first 10 games. His 21 QB hits is one shy of the career high he set last year.

Cam Newton, QB, New England Patriots
It was a passing duel between Newton and Deshaun Watson on Sunday. Though the Patriots lost, Newton threw for 365 yards on 26 of 40 passing. It was the second-most passing yards this season for the former Heisman Trophy winner. He also connected with Damiere Byrd on a 42-yard touchdown pass midway through the third quarter. On throws beyond 10 yards in the air, Newton went 8 of 8 for 207 yards and the score.

Daniel Thomas, DB, Jacksonville Jaguars
A week after matching his career high with seven tackles, Thomas pulled down his first NFL interception in Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. On the final play of the first half, the rookie safety intercepted Ben Roethlisberger's last-second pass in the end zone and ran it back 53 yards. He also added two pass deflections, which were his first of the season. Thomas has started each of the last two games.
