Mayo Sowell was part of an incredible class of Auburn football recruits. Ronnie Brown, Junior Rosegreen and Jason Campbell were all part of a class that decided they would commit to Auburn on their recruiting visit. They formed the nucleus of the SEC Championship team in 2004. Some went on to careers in the NFL. Mayo's life went down a different path. He spent five years in prison for dealing drugs. Those players and others never gave up on Mayo and while in prison, his life changed forever.
He's now a pastor at Church of the Highlands in Birmingham. Next year, he'll plant a church near Atlanta.
The redemption story of former Auburn linebacker Mayo Sowell is featured in this Talking Tigers Podcast, presented by Wickles Pickles
