AUBURN, Ala. – In its final nonconference test at Jane B. Moore Field this regular season, No. 19 Auburn softball (32-9) welcomes Jacksonville State (25-16) and Chattanooga (21-18) for back-to-back contests on Tuesday and Wednesday.
 
The midweek series begins on Tuesday with the Gamecocks. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT. The contest is available on the SEC Network+ with a passthrough of Auburn's radio coverage. Wednesday the Tigers take on Chattanooga at 4 p.m. CT. Lynn Rollins and Auburn softball alum Amy Reif will have the call on the SEC Network+.
 
Both contests are rematches for the Tigers as Auburn took down both Jacksonville State and Chattanooga via the run rule earlier in the season.

LEADING OFF

  • Continuing its stretch of five straight non-conference matchups, Auburn hosts a pair of rematches at Jane B. Moore Field with a pair of midweek contests versus Jacksonville State and Chattanooga. Auburn run-ruled both opponents in meetings earlier in the season.
  • Behind its shutout victory at Mercer, Auburn secured its 30th win of the 2022 season. This marks Auburn's first 30-win series since 2019.
  • Hitting a home run in her last four starts, Bri Ellis is just three away from shattering Kasey Cooper's freshman home run record of 18. Ellis currently stands 10th overall in Auburn single-season history with her 16 home runs.
  •  With 19th victories to her credit, Maddie Penta leads the SEC and ranks fifth in the country in wins. She currently tied for the 10th most individual wins by an Auburn pitcher in a single season.
  • Standing at 32-for-35 in career stolen base attempts, sophomore Makayla Packer enters the week tied for ninth in program history for career stolen bases.
  • On the verge of a major milestone, Maddie Penta is just 14 strikeouts shy of hitting 200 for the season. She will be the first Tiger pitcher to strikeout at least 200 batters in a season since Anna Thompson in 2010.
  • Allowing just 63 earned runs in over 242 career innings pitched, Shelby Lowe ranks 25th among all active and qualifying NCAA Division I pitcher with a 1.82 career ERA.
  • Behind 12 different Tigers going yard this season, Auburn has totaled 71 home runs in 2022, the fourth most in a single season in program history.
  • Averaging 6.7 runs per game this season, Auburn's offense as propelled the Tigers to 14 total run-rule victories in 2022.
  • Thirty-six of Auburn's 71 home runs in 2022 have been slugged by the Tiger freshmen class. Four Tiger freshman have recorded multiple home runs this season with three freshmen recording ­­­­multiple home runs this season with three hitting at least eight.
