Auburn Made: Week 8 NFL rundownAuburn Made: Week 8 NFL rundown

What can Derrick Brown not do? After a career-high 12 tackles during Sunday's victory in Atlanta, it's safe to say there is not much the former top-10 pick can't do.

That and more in this week's NFL rundown.

BEST OF WEEK 8

Derrick Brown, DT, Carolina Panthers
Brown has been enjoying a dominant season this year, and Sunday's performance against the Atlanta Falcons might have been his bet yet. The third-year star tackled everything, racking up a career-high 12 tackles, including one tackle for loss and half a sack. He finished an overall PFF grade of 80.9, his third highest grade of the season. He is tops among all NFL interior defensive linemen against the run this season with a grade of 84.2.

Jamel Dean, CB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In a Thursday night shown against the Baltimore Ravens, Dean came ready to play. He collected six tackles and had a critical pass break-up on fourth down to force a turnover on downs. It was one of only two passes thrown his way all night, and he allowed just one catch for three yards. Dean earned an overall PFF grade of 72.0, his third highest of the season and the highest since week 3. His season grade (82.0) ranks fifth among NFL cornerbacks.

Carl Lawson, DE, New York Jets
The comeback tour continued for Lawson on Sunday with another impressive performance against the New England Patriots. He picked up his third sack of the season and recorded three tackles and two tackles for loss. With two quarterback pressures on the day, Lawson has now had at least one QB pressure in all eight games in 2022.

Darius Slayton, WR, New York Giants
Slayton has been carving a valuable role in the Giants' offense the past few weeks, and it was more of the same Sunday at Seattle. The fourth-year wide receiver caught five passes on six targets for 66 yards receiving and finished with an overall PFF grade of 75.6. He's now had 50 yards or more receiving in three of his last four games.

Braden Smith, OL, Indianapolis Colts
There have been some struggles up front for the Colts this season, but Smith has continued to be consistent and lock down the right tackle spot. On Sunday against the Washington Commanders, he earned his highest PFF grade of the season at 79.2. It was the second highest mark on the Colts. Smith was particularly impressive in the rushing attack where he graded out at 81.4, the eight highest grade for offensive tackles this week.
