Auburn Made: Week 18 NFL Rundown

Auburn Made: Week 18 NFL RundownAuburn Made: Week 18 NFL Rundown

The NFL wrapped up its regular season this past weekend and a few former Auburn players ended their season with a bang, including Derrick Brown who finished with seven tackles and matched a Panthers' record that goes back to 2002.

That and more on this week's NFL rundown.

BEST OF WEEK 18

K.J. Britt, LB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In the regular-season finale, Britt was given an opportunity in the second half and made the most of it for Tampa Bay. The second-year player, who has only played on special teams this season until Sunday, racked up seven tackles and a tackle for loss against the Atlanta Falcons. It was a career high for Britt, a fifth-round draft pick in 2021. Britt, Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean are all headed back to the playoffs with the Buccaneers.

Daniel Carlson, K, Las Vegas Raiders
Carlson wrapped up another remarkable season Saturday, making a pair of field goals and an extra point against the Kansas City Chiefs. One of his two field goals came from 54 yards out, and by making it, he set an NFL record with 11 field goals of 50+ yards on the season. A year after leading the NFL in points, Carlson finished the 2022 season tied for third with 137 points. He was also among the league leaders in field-goal percentage (91.9).

Derrick Brown, DT, Carolina Panthers
It is safe to say 2022 was a breakout season for Brown who proved to be a consistent force for the Carolina defense. In his final game, the former top 10 pick tallied seven tackles, two quarterback hits and a QB hurry. He earned an overall PFF grade of 81.1 and a pass-rush grade of 87.2 for the week. Brown finished the season with 67 tackles, matching Mike Rucker (2002) for the most tackles by a Panthers defensive lineman.

Jonathan Jones, CB, New England Patriots
With his team vying for a playoff spot Sunday, Jones came up with another big play as he punched out the football and forced a fumble that resulted in a New England field goal. It was the third forced fumble of the season for Jones who also had four interceptions in 2022. He finished with six tackles on the day and earned a 91.5 PFF grade in run defense, marking his highest grade this season in that respective category.

Jarrett Stidham, QB, Las Vegas Raiders
Making his second straight start, Stidham threw another touchdown in Saturday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Las Vegas signal caller threw a great ball to the back corner of the end zone where Hunter Renfrow hauled it in for six. Stidham finished the day 22 of 36 for 219 yards and the touchdown. He also ran for 50 yards on seven carries.
