ATHENS, Ga. – Monday proved to be another solid day of diving for the Auburn Tigers on day two of the Zone B Championships inside Gabrielsen Natatorium. Junior Abigail Farrar delivered a career-high 301.05 in finals of the 3-meter to highlight another exciting day in Athens.
"Abigail [Farrar] had a fantastic showing today," said head diving coach John Fox. "Going a personal best in finals at Zones is no joke. It sets her up for success tomorrow."
Fighting for just eight spots, Farrar, Ashlynn Sullivan, Kyleigh Kidd and Kayla Walsh all delivered noteworthy performances in prelims. It was Farrar's 284.60, though, that earned the Pompano Beach, Florida native a second list in finals.
Going toe-to-toe with Georgia's own Meghan Wenzel, Farrar came up with a stellar 301.05, including a 60.75 on her final dive for a new career best. Her 585.65 total was just over one point shy of Wenzel in 12th.
Sullivan snagged 23rd with a 275.75, Kidd wound up 26th at 267.25 and Walsh finished 33rd with a 250.55.
Whit Andrus and Talan Blackmon kicked off the week on the men's side in the 1-meter competition. Andrus finished 22nd (284.40) while Blackmon grabbed 27th (269.60).
