John Fox was hired as Auburn's head diving coach in June of 2023.
Fox is recognized nationally and internationally for developing athletes from the junior level to the NCAA, World Championship, and Olympic podiums.
Since arriving at Auburn in June of 2023, Fox has guided every diver on the roster to at least one career-best performance. His athletes have produced seven top-10 performances in program history, earned SEC medals, qualified multiple divers to NCAA Championships, and continued to progress year over year.
Over the past decade, Fox has developed more than 30 Division I divers, including Olympians, NCAA Champions, NCAA All-Americans, USA Senior National Champions and World Championship medalists. His athletes have reached multiple Olympic Games, highlighted by Olympian, NCAA Champion and World Championship medalist Carson Tyler, whom Fox developed and coached from the junior ranks through the highest levels of international competition. He also developed and coached ElliReese Niday, the youngest USA Diving Senior National Champion in history, and guided Emily Hallifax to NCAA All-America honors in 2025.
Fox’s athletes have earned 11 Junior National medals, five Junior International medals, seven Junior National titles, two YMCA National Championships and a Boys USA Diving Junior National Team Championship. His coaching pathway has produced Olympic Trials finalists, World Championship competitors, Pan American medalists, and NCAA podium finishers.
At the international level, Fox has represented the French Diving Federation at the World Championships and was named Head Coach for Team USA at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games. He currently serves as a member of the USA Diving Committee for Competitive Excellence (CCE), contributing to the organization’s national high-performance strategy.
Fox was named the 2021 USPOC Diving Development Coach of the Year and earned the Moose Moss Diving Coach of the Year Award in 2017. He has been selected to coach multiple Junior Pan American Championships and maintains a close mentorship with U.S. Olympic Head Coach Drew Johansen.
Prior to Auburn, Fox served as head coach and CFO of Moss Farms Diving Club, where he built one of the nation’s most respected athlete-development programs. He also worked in academic services at UCF and coached at Lexington Country Club and Kentucky Dive Club.
Fox earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kentucky and completed both his MBA and a master’s degree in sport business management at UCF.
He is joined in Auburn by his wife, Tiffany, and their children, Charlee Rae and Liam.
