ATLANTA, Ga. — Three event wins and two top-10 efforts in program history highlighted a successful slate of diving for Auburn at the Georgia Tech Invite inside historic McAuley Aquatic Center.
Head diving coach John Fox could not have asked for a better effort on the boards from his group of Tigers. In the first session, all eight of the Auburn divers solidified spots in finals.
On the men’s side, it was Ethan Swart leading the way in the 3-meter competition. Swart (373.70), Ben Wilson (343.20) and Talan Blackmon (330.00) all earned second lists in the evening.
Swart would conjure a massive 392.10 in finals to finish third overall. It also jumped the sophomore to the ninth-best performer in program history. Wilson followed in fourth at 375.15 and Blackmon grabbed fifth at 367.25.
The Auburn women locked out the 1-meter competition. Emily Hallifax (278.55), Maria Faoro (269.75), Kyleigh Kidd (268.95), Chloe Brothers (264.75) and Juliette Landi (259.00) made it a completely Orange and Blue affair in finals.
Hallifax solidified second overall with a sturdy 296.70, with Kidd, Landi, Brothers and Faoro taking spots 5-8.
When it came time for the women to jump up to the 3-meter, freshman Juliette Landi leapfrogged into the program’s No. 6 spot with a 344.25 to qualify first overall. Brothers (253.50), Faoro (243.70) and Hallifax (220.50) also earned second lists.
Landi would not be denied her title, delivering a 335.50 in finals to secure the victory.
Swart was back at it in the men’s 1-meter. A 364.70 earned the Indiana native the No. 1 spot in finals. Blackmon joined his fellow Tiger with a 311.00.
Like Landi, Swart made it a clean sweep on the boards during the session with a 370.25.
As the focus shifted to the tower, Auburn never lost intensity.
Swart’s strong weekend continued, dialing up a stout 354.00 to finish second overall. Blackmon grabbed eighth at 308.75 and Wilson wrapped up 11th with a 270.45.
Hallifax rounded out the meet with one last victory for the Orange and Blue. A specialist on platform, Olympian from France cruised to a win with a 301.30. Brothers wound up seventh at 215.30. Faoro and would finish 14th (188.35) and Landi 16th (180.55).
