AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn gymnastics team improved its National Qualifying Score to 197.040 and are ranked No. 14 in this week’s RoatToNationals.com rankings.
The Tigers (10-5, 3-4 SEC) scored a 197.150 on the road at Missouri last week up their NQS.
Oklahoma remains at the top of the rankings with a 197.965 NQS. LSU stands at No. 2 with a NQS of 197.825, while Florida is at No. 3 with a 197.760 NQS. UCLA (197.600) and Utah (197.515) round out the top five.
The rest of the SEC remains in the top 20 – Missouri (No. 7), Georgia (No. 9), Kentucky (No. 10), Alabama (No. 10), and Arkansas (No. 16) following.
Auburn’s beam squad remains No. 6 nationally with a 49.385 NQS after going 49.4 on Sunday. Vault improved its NQS to 49.245 and ranks No. 10. Floor is 14th at 49.360 and bars ranks No. 18.
Fifth year Gabby McLaughlin moved up in the beam rankings following a 9.975 on Sunday at Missouri, tying her career best. She ranks tied for 20th with a 9.895 NQS. Freshman Marissa Neal is 31st in the event with a 9.885.
Sophomore Paige Zancan is among the nation’s best on vault with a 9.875 NQS to rank tied for 28th. Senior Sara Hubbard is No. 30 with a 9.870. Sophomore Alex Irvine is 31st on bars at 9.890.
Auburn closes out the regular season Friday, hosting No. 2 LSU at 7 p.m. CT in Neville Arena. The two Tiger teams will face off on SEC Network+ and the evening will be Auburn’s Senior Night and Alumni Night.
