AUBURN, Ala. – In a first-of-its-kind event, head coach Ryan Wochomurka and the Auburn Tigers will compete in THE Dual Meet Tournament, Oct. 17-18, at historic McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech.

The Tigers, along with the host Yellow Jackets, Army, Florida State, George Washington, Georgia, Minnesota and NC State, will compete in a bracket-style tournament across two days in Atlanta. Auburn has been drawn to face Minnesota in round one at 7:30 a.m. CT on Friday morning. The Orange and Blue will await the winners or losers of George Washington and Georgia in round 2 at 2 p.m. CT.

Regardless of a win or a loss on Friday afternoon, each team will get one more dual on Saturday.

Team scores will be combined between the men and women for a total of 790 points available in each dual. A school needs 396 points to win. Divers will compete in two events (1M and 3M), with six total rounds. Each diver would perform three dives per event, selecting one dive from the front and inward category, one dive from the back and gainer category and one dive from the twister category

Wochomurka and Co. are coming off a successful trip to Dallas at the SMU Invite. The Auburn men finished second in the prestigious event, while the women wrapped up third place.

Freshman Daniel Krichevsky made a splash in his Orange and Blue debut. His 1:33.74 in the 200 free jumped the Israel native to No. 8 all-time on the program’s performer list and currently sits as the sixth-fastest time in the country. His 500 free (4:21.78) and 100 fly (46.47) also rank inside the top 20 in the nation at 18th and 14th, respectively.

Fellow freshmen Ivan Tarasov and Mason Ballew also flexed their muscles at SMU. Tarasov’s 46.17 in the 100 back is the 13th-fastest time in the country thus far. Meanwhile, Ballew put up a sturdy 1:55.77 in the 200 breast to jump into the top 20.

Georgia Tech transfer will be back in Atlanta this weekend. His 52.84 was the 16th-fastest 100 breast time in the nation last week. Veteran Danny Schmidt kicked off his 2025-26 campaign on a good note as well, clocking the 12th-fastest time in the country in the 200 IM (1:45.79) and the 13th-fastest in the 400 IM (3:50.68).

Wochomurka’s relays are also off to a good start. The 200 free relay (1:18.36), 800 free relay (6:21.09) and 200 medley relay (1:24.37) are all inside the top five in the country. Auburn currently owns the fastest time in the nation in the 800 free relay.

On the women’s side, both Lora Komoroczy and Elizaveta Klevanovich showed why they were a problem on the blocks last season for the Orange and Blue. Klevanovich owned the sprints in Dallas. Her 22.12 in the 500 free and 48.75 in the 100 free rank 10th and 17th in the country, respectively. Komoroczy managed the 12th-fastest time in the 100 back at 52.34.

Freshman Taylor Bacher kickstarted her career in the 400 IM with a solid 4:16.91 for the 14th-quickest time in the nation.

Like the men, Auburn’s relays remain a focal point. The 1:19.16 in the 200 free relay was the 4th-fastest time in college swimming entering Friday, and the 7:12.20 in the 800 free relay is No. 2.

Divers Maria Faoro, Talan Blackmon and Ethan Swart all had strong starts to their respective seasons and will look to keep it going in Atlanta for head diving coach John Fox
