AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 3 Auburn equestrian team will host second-ranked South Carolina in its first home SEC meet of the 2025-26 season at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Auburn Equestrian Center. The meet will be the Tigers’ first dual-discipline competition on the Plains since the season opener on Oct. 4.
“It’ll be a competitive meet, and we’re excited to get them at home,” Auburn head coach Jessica Braswell said. “The last time we faced them was at the SEC Championship, and we lost, so we’re ready to see them again. We expect them to come in full go. We just have to do the things we’ve been doing. We’re at home, where we know our horses, which is definitely an advantage. If we execute and don’t make mistakes, we should be in good shape.”
The Tigers enter Saturday’s meet with a 3-1 record. After defeating No. 8 Baylor to open the season, Auburn competed in three consecutive road meets in Texas, where it narrowly fell to Texas A&M in a raw-score total tiebreaker, defeated No. 7 SMU, and then took down No. 7 TCU.
Auburn had a strong showing in the jumping seat events against the Horned Frogs, claiming four of five points in both. On Saturday, the Fences lineup will include Sadie Berkhout, Avery Glynn, Kate Hagerty, Ariana Marnell and Caroline Olsen. The Tigers’ Flat lineup will feature Berkhout, Glynn, Marnell, Olsen and Baylee McKeever.
Glynn has had a perfect season so far for the Tigers, posting an 8-0-0 record across both events. She also earned Most Outstanding Performer honors on the Flat during the Tigers’ road win over TCU, where she scored a 94. On Wednesday, the Auburn junior was named NCEA Flat Rider of the Month for October.
The Tigers will have a familiar lineup in both Western events Saturday. In Horsemanship, the lineup will feature Caroline Fredenburg, Callie Hogg, Brooke Jolstad, Sydney Swallom and Alexia Tordoff. The Reining squad will include Tordoff, Hogg, Caroline Buchanan, Michelle Fumagalli and Sofia Tieche.
Swallom also received NCEA Rider of the Month honors Wednesday in Horsemanship. She has gone 4-0-0 in the event this season with two MOPs, including one during the most recent meet at TCU.
This season, South Carolina has posted a 5-1 overall record and a 1-1 mark in SEC competition. The Gamecocks defeated then-No. 4 Texas A&M 14-6 at home and fell to No. 1 Georgia 13-6 on the road.
Auburn leads the all-time series over South Carolina 39-21. The Tigers won both regular-season meetings last year but fell to the Gamecocks in the SEC Equestrian Championship semifinals.
Saturday’s competition will be Auburn’s Military Appreciation Meet, honoring those who have served the nation. The first fans in attendance will receive a “Thank You Veterans” button while supplies last. Admission to the Auburn Equestrian Center is free. The meet will be streamed on SEC Network+, with live scoring available at AuburnTigers.com.
