AUBURN, Ala. – No. 4 Auburn women’s tennis will face its first Power Four opponent of the season Tuesday, hosting Georgia Tech at 3 p.m. CT at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. The Tigers enter the match with a perfect 6-0 record and are coming off a doubleheader sweep Sunday.

“Georgia Tech is obviously a national championship program, and to have them come here to play us is a really big deal, so we’re excited,” Auburn head coach Jordan Szabo said. “Playing a power conference match can only help later in the season with the rankings. They’ve played one match and we’ve played six, so I feel like we’ll be the better-prepared team, but we’re going to go out and show it. It’s going to be a really good test to see where we’re at and where we need to keep getting better.”

Auburn has looked dominant early in the 2026 season, dropping just one set through its first six matches. Ekaterina Khairutdinova has been impressive in her first season with the Tigers, earning four singles victories while competing at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.

The Tigers also looked sharp in doubles over the weekend, with DJ Bennett and Ava Esposito winning both of their matches on the top doubles court.

Georgia Tech enters Tuesday’s match after earning its first win of the season Saturday with a 7-0 victory over Georgia State. The Yellow Jackets finished 14-12 last season and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Georgia Tech leads the all-time series against Auburn 16-13. The teams last met in the second round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament, when the Tigers defeated the Yellow Jackets 4-3 at home to advance to the NCAA Super Regionals.

Fans in attendance Tuesday will receive free popcorn while supplies last. Auburn will also host a free kids clinic on the competition courts immediately following the match.
