CLEMSON, S.C.- The Auburn track and field team continued its impressive start to the 2026 indoor season, highlighted by senior Megan Hague and freshman Ibukanoluwa Daramola, who each set school records at the Bob Pollock Invitational at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex this weekend.
During the two-day meet, the Tigers won gold in the men’s 4x400m relay and women’s distance medley relay, while posting 23 new personal bests and five podium finishes.
Hague made school history by setting a new indoor record in women’s shot put with a mark of 18.27m/59-11.25. The All-American’s record-breaking throw surpassed the previous mark by 0.38 meters, which had been set by Valentina Muzaric in 2014. Hague took home silver in the event and now ranks fourth nationally and first in the SEC this season.
Daramola broke the Auburn freshman school record in the men’s long jump, as the Nigeria jumped 7.82m/25-8 in just his third collegiate competition, to break Boris Goin’s 40-year-old record of 24-9.50. Darmola currently holds the NCAA’s No. 13 mark this season.
Auburn captured gold in the men’s 4x400m relay as the quartet of Lebron Bessick, Devin Nugent, Mekhi Dupree, and Ajenadro Cardenas finished in 3:08.58, good for the 10th fastest time in Auburn history.
The women’s distance medley relay quartet of Camila Gomes, Zuriel Reed, Cady McPhail and Gene Coetzee cruised to a four second victory, crossing in a time of 11:22.76.
Senior Alyssa Quinones-Mixon led the way in the women's pole vault as she tied for first in the event with a mark of 4.22m/13-10. Quinones Mixon was joined by junior Brooke Walden in the competition with a season-best mark of 3.82m/12-06.25.
Bowerman Award Finalist Ja’Kobe Tharp made his first appearance of the 2026 indoor season and finished first in the men’s 60m hurdles prelims with a time of 7.65 and followed up with a 7.69 in the semis.
In his first collegiate 200m race, sophomore Israel Okon took bronze in 20.82 to become the No. 6 performer in Auburn history. The Tigers filled the top 10 with senior Omari Lewis (21.02) and sophomore Mekhi Dupree (21.13) setting personal bests of their own and finishing sixth and eighth, respectively.
Senior Reese Webster delivered an impressive performance in the women’s 60m as she recorded a new personal best in 7.25, the NCAA’s No. 15 mark this season. Webster beat her previous personal best, which she set in the semifinals, by 0.03 seconds.
In the throwing events, senior John Leonard finished fifth in the men’s weight throw with a mark of 21.58m/70-09.75. Fellow senior Seth Allen recorded a new personal best of 20.04m/65-09 as he finished in eighth. Senior Matthew Rueff secured a podium finish in shot put, taking third with a mark of 18.03m/59-02.
On the women’s side, sophomore Camryn Massey set a new PR in shot put and weight throw as she finished top five in both events. Following Hague’s record-breaking throw, Massey set a new personal best in shot put with a mark of 16.69m/54-09.25 on her fourth throw. In weight throw, Massey posted another PR of 19.15m/62-10, improving her previous best by 0.37 meters.
In the women’s 800m, four Tigers record personal bests. Gomes finished in 2:08.19 as she placed ninth, while fellow junior McPhail also set a new PR with a mark of 2:13.73. Freshmen Kennedy Hamilton and Ava Fields followed behind with new personal bests of their own.
Freshman Arianna Roy finished fifth in the women’s mile with a personal best time of 4:51.72. She was followed by fellow newcomers Ava Fields and Kennedy Hamilton, who set PRs of their own, finishing in 12th and 19th, respectively.
In the women’s 3000m, senior Hallie Porterfield finished ninth with a personal best time of 9:32.34, and junior Mary Mac Collins set a PR of her own in 9:41.15.
Auburn’s next action will be a split weekend as the Tigers send athletes back to Clemson for the Tiger Paw Invitation and to Boston, MA, for the David Hemery Valentine Invitation on February 13-14.
