EUGENE, Oregon — Auburn senior Megan Hague closed her Auburn career with her second consecutive first team All-America honors in 2026 as she took eighth in the women’s shot put, Thursday at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field.
Hague, who finished fourth in the event at indoor nationals in March, had a best mark of 16.24m/53-3.5 on her second of six attempts. The Niceville, Florida, native’s 2026 was capped by a school record in the event while registering nine of the top 10 throws in program history.
Teammate Marley Raikiwasa placed 18th in the shot with a throw of 16.24m/53.3-5 to capture All-America honors for the second time outdoors. Raikiwasa took home All-America accolades as a freshman in 2024 in the discus.
The foursome of Danae Nembhard, Reese Webster, Shonedra Richardson, and Sophia Efetobore earned All-America honors in the 4x100m relay, finishing 16th overall, crossing in 43.69. Auburn’s finish was its best showing in the event since placing fifth in 2018.
Freshman Sophia Mazzoni took 17th in the javelin with a mark of 49.67m/162-11, concluding an outstanding debut on the Plains. The Derry, Pennsylvania, native set the AU school freshman record in the javelin and broke her own mark four additional times during the year.
Competing in her first NCAA championship, freshman Norah Lind finished 20th in the hammer throw with a mark of 61.58m/202-0. The Stockholm, Sweden native’s appearance in Eugene was the third ever by an AU rookie, joining Daina Levy (2013) and Madi Malone (2019).
The Auburn men will return to action Friday, starting at 2:15 p.m. PT with Seth Allen and Kai Twaddle-Dunham in the discus. Auburn’s two-time defending national champion 4x100m relay will look to make it a three-peat at 5:02 p.m. PT, while World Record Holder Ja’Kobe Tharp will vie for his fourth NCAA individual crown at 5:42 p.m. PT.
