AUBURN, Ala.— The No. 3 Auburn equestrian team took down the No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks, 14-5, Friday at the Auburn University Equestrian Center.
"An outstanding win today, I'm really proud of the team," head coach Jessica Braswell said. "The team performed really, really well. I think we fixed a lot of the things we wanted to from last week.”
Auburn (2-0, 1-0 SEC) swept Fences (5-0) and won Flat (4-1) and Reining (3-1-1), while South Carolina took Horsemanship, 3-2. The Tigers captured three Most Outstanding Performer honors: freshman Lindsey Lester in Reining, sophomore Caroline Olsen on the Flat and junior Ariana Marnell in Fences.
“We had a great crowd for having to move the meet before the weather coming in, so I appreciate everybody who came out and supported us today," Braswell said. "Really happy with where we are. We have a bye week now and then we'll get back to work against Texas A&M."
