Stefan Schmidt serves as the director of player personnel for Auburn football. He joined the Tigers in June, 2017. Prior to Auburn, Schmidt was assistant director of player personnel at the University of Texas.
After graduating from college, Schmidt joined the University of Texas in 2013 as a recruiting quality control staff member under head coach Mack Brown. Following a season with the Longhorns, he served as the assistant director of football operations at Wisconsin during the 2014 season before entering the private business sector in 2015. Schmidt returned to college athletics in 2016 as recruiting assistant at Miami under Coach Mark Richt.
A 2012 graduate of Alabama with a degree in general business administration, Schmidt began his career as a student assistant in the recruiting office at Alabama from 2010-13. From Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Schmidt is a graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School.
