Jessica Bachkora is in her first season with Auburn softball after joining the program in September 2012. Responsible for outfielders, slappers and hitters, Bachkora comes to the Tigers after a distinguished playing career for the Arkasnas Razorbacks.
Bachkora served as a graduate assistant at the University of Arkansas from 2010-12. She earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and a master's degree in exercise science at Arkansas, while lettering for the Razorbacks from 2007-10.
As a player, Bachkora played centerfield and ended her career as the Arkansas career leader in batting average (.300), runs scored (166), hits (227), doubles (48) and total bases (356).
Bachkora also set single-season Arkansas records in home runs (15 in 2010), batting average (.373 in 2010), slugging percentage (.740 in 2010), on-base percentage (.500 in 2010) and runs scored (62 in 2010).
A native of Overland Park, Kan., Bachkora (pronounced Botch-kora) earned SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year and was named to the All-SEC Second Team and NFCA All-Region First Team as a senior in 2010. She was named NFCA All-Region Second Team in 2009.
Bachkora was an ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-America selection in 2010 and a First-Team Academic All-District selection in 2009-10.
After her collegiate career ended Bachkora played one season in the National Pro Fastpitch League with the Carolina Diamonds. Bachkora has coached the 18 & Under Gold Team in the Mustang Softball Association in Wichita, Kan., since 2008.
