Head softball coach Mickey Dean announced the hiring of Ken Brooke as the program's volunteer assistant in July of 2022. Brooke is in his second season serving the program after spending the 2021 season as a graduate assistant.

Using his background in hitting biomechanics and analytics, Brooke was able to provide valuable data and individualized drills for the coaching staff to implement. Brooke made an immediate impact on the program as the Tiger offense saw a resurgence, improving its offensive numbers in virtually every category. Auburn more than tripled its 2021 home run output over the course of the season, finishing third in the SEC with 86. The Tigers raised their slugging percentage by over 200 points with Brooke on the staff. After finishing last in the SEC in all power categories in 2021, Auburn jumped to sixth in the SEC in slugging percentage.

During the spring of 2021, Brooke was the hitting and outfield coach for Chandler Gilbert College's softball program. Brooke helped the Coyotes improved their batting average from .288 a season before to .359 while raising the team's slugging percentage by 165 points. In the fall of 2020, Brooke served as the hitting coach for the varsity and junior varsity baseball teams at Ottawa University in Surprise, Arizona, helping the program see similar results in higher batting average and slugging percentage from the season before.

Brooke is certified with On Base University, a professional organization dedicated to study how the human body functions in relation to baseball and softball. He has worked with Major League Baseball players and hitting coaches, given hitting talks across the country, written professional baseball and softball swing mechanics books and helped the Texas Rangers with their system-wide hitting guide. Brooke uses video analysis, functional movement screens, Blast, Rapsodo, Win Reality, K-vest 3D motion among other programs to help track hitters' progress and outcomes. Brooke also has experience as a head baseball coach at both the high school and junior college level.

Brooke played collegiate baseball at Lincoln Junior College and Bradley University. He would go to serve as a player/manager in a semi-professional league, winning four consecutive championships and one batting title. Brooke also competed on a state championship men's fastpitch softball team for six years.
