Four years after she played her last round as an Auburn Tiger, Courtney Trimble (formerly Courtney Swaim) returned to the Plains midway through the 2005-06 season to assist Kim Evans with coaching the women[apos]s golf team.
A four year letterwinner and one of only five Tigers to play in every tournament over the course of her career, Trimble brings a wealth of collegiate and professional playing experience to the Auburn staff.
A Duluth, Ga., native, Trimble played at Auburn from 1998-2002. During her four years, Auburn compiled a record of 578-207-2 (.734) and won 11 tournaments. Trimble[apos]s senior season was most the successful in the program[apos]s history. The 2001-02 team finished no worse than second in 12 tournaments, amassed five victories and was national runner-up at the NCAA Championships, the school[apos]s best-ever finish in the tournament.
Individually, Trimble is one of Auburn[apos]s most decorated players. She played in 46 tournaments over the course of her career, more than any other Auburn golfer. She was an All-SEC selection in 1999 and 2001 and earned both All-SEC and All-America honors in 2002. Trimble was also a member of the 2002 victorious Curtis Cup team and played in the 2002 U.S. Women[apos]s Open as an amateur.
After graduating in the spring of 2002 with a degree in business administration, Trimble played for more than two years on the Futures Tour. She played in 37 tournaments and earned four top-five finishes. She also earned a spot in the 2004 U.S. Women[apos]s Open and made the cut, finishing 61st.
Trimble also spent time as a golf instructor at the Atlanta Athletic Club before returning to Auburn. She is married to Billy Trimble.
