AUBURN, Ala. – All roads have led to Federal Way, Washington as Ryan Wochomurka and the Auburn Tigers are set for the 2025 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center. The championships are slated for March 19-22, beginning with the 200 medley and 800 free relays on Wednesday evening.
The meet will be streamed live on ESPN Plus all week long and live results will be available through Meet Mobile.
Wochomurka and Co. arrive in the Pacific Northwest after a ninth-place finish at the SEC Championships in Athens, Georgia last month. Lora Komoroczy (50 free, 100 back, 100 fly), Morgan Carteaux (100 fly, 200 fly), Anastasia Makarova (100 breast), Elizaveta Klevanovich (50 free, 100 free), Lexie Mulvihill (50 free, 100 free), Julia Strojnowska (200 free, 500 free, 1650 free), Audrey Crawford (200 breast, 200 IM, 400 IM) and Emily Hallifax (Platform Diving) have all earned spots to compete in the Apple State.
Auburn’s mix of veterans and underclassmen has propelled the Orange and Blue all season long. Of the 15 top-10 swims and dives this season, 11 have come from freshmen or sophomores. Not to mention, Lora Komoroczy, Anastasia Makarova, Lawson Ficken and Lexie Mulvihill broke the school record in the 200 medley relay at SECs.
Komoroczy, the Tigers’ rookie sensation from Budapest, Hungary, is already the second-fastest performer in program history in the 100 back (51.21) and sits seventh in the 100 fly (51.65), one spot behind teammate and fellow NCAA qualifier Morgan Carteaux (51.64).
Crawford utilized Last Chance to her advantage, dropping a 2:08.93 in the 200 breast to become the fourth-fastest performer in Auburn history in the event. Graduate Lisa Klevanovich nearly equaled Crawford’s effort in the 100 free, finding an even 48.00 to jump to the No. 7 spot.
In the diving well, Emily Hallifax has been as good as advertised. The freshman came close to a school record on Platform during the AU Diving Invite with a 318.30. Finaling in all three of the events during the SEC Championships, Hallifax was the top point scorer for the Tigers in Athens.
Polina Nevmovenko, Wyllo Hanson, Abby Gibbons and Bella Ekk join the team as relay alternates.
A season ago, the Tigers finished 19th at the NCAA Championships with 54 points, the team’s highest finish since 2019. Throughout its history, Auburn boasts five National Championships (’02, ’03, ’04, ’06, ’07).
