NORMAN, Okla. – The No. 15 Auburn gymnastics team traveled to No. 1 Oklahoma for a Southeastern Conference contest and fell to the Sooners, 197.975-196.150 Friday night in the Lloyd Noble Center.

“We fought really hard today and I thought we did an overall good job regardless of what the scores say,” head coach Jeff Graba said. “I thought it was a fairly good performance for us today and we’ll just get back to practice this week to get ready for the next one.

The Tigers opened up the night on bars, putting together a 49.175. Juniors Emma Grace Boyd and Olivia Greaves highlighted the event as Boyd set a career with a 9.9 and Greaves had a season best with a 9.875. Junior Alex Irvine anchored with a 9.825 and sophomore Katelyn Jong earned a 9.8. Huff closed out scoring in the first rotation with a 9.775.

Vault was a bright spot for the Tigers as the team went 49.300. Sophomore Marissa Neal and freshman Brynn Torry each reached career highs with a 9.9s and junior Paige Zancan had a team-high 9.925 to earn a share of the vault title. Freshman Mia Leverton chipped in a 9.8 and Huff once again chipped in a 9.775.

Neal had a team-high 9.85 on floor for the Tigers in the third rotation with Greaves and Huff chipping in a pair of 9.825s. Sophomore Olivia Ahern put up a 9.775 and classmate Bryn Bartman led off with a 9.6.

The final rotation was beam and the team was led by Neal and Irvine. Neal anchored with a 9.875, while Irvine added a 9.85. Huff put together a 9.775, while Hagle had a 9.75 and Greaves finished with a 9.55.

Huff and Greaves competed in the all-around for the Tigers, scoring a 39.150 and a 38.925, respectively.

Auburn returns to the Plains for a non-conference match up with No. 11 Michigan State. The Tigers and the Spartans will face off at 7 p.m. CT in Neville Arena on March 6.

Auburn follows with a Sunday quad meet on the podium, traveling to Huntsville for the annual Elevate the Stage meet, March 8. The Tigers will take on No. 6 Georgia, No. 13 Clemson and Pitt at 3 p.m. CT in the Von Braun Center.
