AUBURN, Alabama — Auburn track and field closed out the 2026 regular season in dominant fashion during a split weekend at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial in Athens, Ga., and the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville, Fla.
The weekend was highlighted by senior Megan Hague breaking her own Auburn shot put record, along with notching eight NCAA top-20 marks, 11 new personal best marks, four individual event wins, and a relay victory.
The Tigers sent 20 throwers and distance runners to Athens to compete on the Spec Town Track at the University of Georgia, while 21 sprinters traveled to Jacksonville to compete on North Florida’s campus.
Competing in Athens, senior Megan Hague broke her own Auburn shot put record for the second time this season with a mark of 18.63m/61-1.5, shattering her previous record by 0.41 meters. The All-American earned her third event win of the season and is now No. 3 nationally in the event. Hague holds nine of the top 10 performances in Auburn history, including the top eight marks, four of which came during Saturday’s competition.
The quartet of Azeem Fahmi, Kayinsola Akayi, Ja’Kobe Tharp, and Israel Okon secured gold in the men’s 4x100m relay race, crossing in 38.41, currently the best time in the NCAA this season and the seventh-best performance in Auburn history in the event.
In the men’s 100m, the Tigers claimed six of the top-10 spots, including four of the top five. Junior Kayinsola Ajayi led the group with a second-place finish in a wind-aided 9.99, the No. 7 mark nationally this season. Senior Omari Lewis followed with a wind-aided 10.05 to take third, while seniors Azeem Fahmi (10.08w) and Tyler Davis (10.15w) finished fourth and fifth. Junior Jehlani Gordon and Austin Kresley rounded out the group in ninth and 10th, respectively.
In the women’s 800m, sophomore Camila Gomes took gold in 2:04.97, good for the ninth-best time in Auburn history. Junior Cady McPhail joined her on the podium with a second-place finish in 2:09.16.
Sophomore Camryn Massey took gold in the women’s discus throw with a new personal best 59.94m/196-8, the second-best mark in Auburn history, and is tied for the third-best mark in the NCAA this season. Massey now owns four of the top-six marks in Auburn history. Junior Marley Raikiwasa followed with a personal best of her own with a throw of 57.53m/188-9, earning her third on the AU performer’s list in the event.
On the men’s side, Senior Seth Allen earned his eighth collegiate event win in discus, capturing gold with a throw of 61.34m/201-3.
