Former Auburn standout Fani Chifchieva is in her second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the women[apos]s tennis program.

A four-year player on The Plains, Chifchieva is the only player in Auburn history be named All-SEC four consecutive years. As a senior, she earned an at-large bid to the NCAA championships in 2010 and advanced all the way to the round of 32.

The only three-time All-American in program history, Chifchieva headlined the individual rankings as a junior, as she wrapped up the season with a No. 6 individual ranking. She earned her third ITA All-American honor after compiling a mark of 15-7 as a junior in 2009.

Chifchieva racked up her third All-SEC plaudit after going 7-3 on the season in conference play in the No. 1 spot for the Tigers. Compiled a 9-5 record against nationally-ranked opponents that season, including winning seven-straight matches from March 15 to April 5 after entered season ranked No. 6 by the ITA.

In 2008, the native of Plovdiv, Bulgaria earned ITA All-American honors after advancing to the semifinals at the NCAA Championships. That season Chifchieva tied for third on the Auburn all-time single season victories list with 27 while recording a 10-1 SEC singles record and a record of 27-3 overall. At the conclusion of the season, she was named 2008 SEC Women[apos]s Tennis Athlete of the Year.

She became the first ITA All-American in Auburn women[apos]s tennis history after winning her way into the round of 16 at the NCAA Singles Championship as a freshman. Chifchieva finished her rookie campaign with a 19-8, 8-3 SEC singles record and for her efforts was named the 2007 ITA South Region Freshman of the Year.

Chifchieva graduated from Auburn in 2010 with a degree in Spanish. She is the daughter of Angel and Tinka Chifchieva.
