Lester Cook was named the Auburn men's tennis assistant coach in July 2023. 

Cook played collegiate tennis at Texas A&M University from 2002-2005 where he solidified himself as one of the greatest Aggie players in program history. During his time in College Station, Cook was a three-time ITA All-American and was a two-time All-Big 12 selection in singles and doubles.
 
The Sherman Oaks, California native reached the NCAA round of 16 in doubles twice, the NCAA round of 32 in singles once, won the 2003 ITA All-American doubles championship and was the Big 12 No. 2 Singles Champion in 2003. Cook reached rankings of No. 1 in the nation in doubles as well as No. 6 in singles during his collegiate career.
 
Following his time at Texas A&M, Cook played six years as a professional that featured eight singles titles and 18 doubles titles. He reached ATP rankings of No. 191 and No. 175 in singles and doubles, respectively and participated in all four grand slam events in 2010 and finished his career with three US Open appearances (2007, 2009, 2010).
 
Cook married his wife, Katie, in 2014 and the couple have two children.
