Began at Auburn: August 2024

Education: Nilson recieved her bachlors degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching in May 2015 from LaGrange College and recieved her masters of science in Kinesiology- Strength and Conditioning in December 2016 from the University of Georgia. 

Job Responsibilities: Nilson oversees all aspects of strength & conditioning for Auburn’s Olympic sports and serves as the primary strength & conditioning coach for women's tennis. 

Past Experience: Prior to her time at Auburn, Nilson served as Associate Director of Women’s Sports Performance at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. During her time at UNC, she was directly responsible for all aspects of training for the gymnastics, women’s tennis and softball programs. She was also responsible for working alongside the UNC EXSS department on education of Women’s Health and Leadership to athletes and staff members. Serving as Internship Coordinator she was responsible for all things related to intern hiring and education of undergraduate and full-time interns. Nilson was also directly responsible for operating the Tar Heel Performance social media platforms. 

Nilson also served two years at North Carolina State University as a Strength & Conditioning Assistant. While at NCSU, she specifically trained softball, men’s and women’s golf and rifle programs while assisting with baseball, volleyball, men’s soccer, men’s tennis and women’s tennis. Before NCSU, she spent two years at the University of Georgia while obtaining her masters degree. She also spent time interning at Athens Academy and LaGrange College. 

Nilson is certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) as well as TPI Level Two certified. 

Personal: Nilson is a native of Hawkinsville, Georgia, played college softball for four years at LaGrange College and was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. She resides in Auburn with her husband, Ken, and her daughter, Austin.
