Auburn adds three Tigers to list of qualifiers for US Olympic Trials

AUBURN, Ala. – Three Tigers punched their tickets to the 2024 US Olympic Trials on Wednesday.
 
Logan Tirheimer, Britton Spann and Jacques Rathle all earned qualifying times in their respective events during the Auburn Leap Year Olympic Qualifier inside the James E. Martin Aquatic Center.
 
Tirheimer, fresh off a monumental week at the SEC Championships, continued his fine form, blasting a 22.73 in the 50 free to duck under the qualifying mark of 22.79. '
 
Freshman Britton Spann had the Orange and Blue cheering moments later, delivering an impressive 2:15.76 in the 200 breast to punch his ticket.
 
Not to be outdone, Jacques Rathle hit the wall at 2:03.13 in the 200 IM to make it a triumphant trio on Wednesday afternoon.
 
This group joins Avery Bargeron (100 fly), Brynn Curtis (200 breast), Abigail Farrar (Platform Diving) Lawson Ficken (50 free), Kyla Maloney (100 back), Mason Mathias (200 fly), Lexie Mulvihill (50 free), Hannah Ownbey (200 IM), Aidan Stoffle (100 back, 100 fly) Andrew Simmons (100 back, 200 back) Ashlynn Sullivan (Platform diving) and Ellie Waldrep (100 back) as those with tickets to Indianapolis thus far.
 
The 2024 US Olympic Trials are set for June 15-23 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Qualification for the trials is open until June 4, 2024.
