Daniel Carlson proved again this week why he’s one of the best kickers in the NFL, converting all four of his field-goal attempts and the game-winner in the final minute to give Las Vegas their first win of 2024.

That and more in this week’s Auburn Made NFL rundown.

BEST OF WEEK 2

Daniel Carlson, K, Las Vegas Raiders
Add another clutch kick to Daniel Carlson's resume after Sunday as the former Auburn kicker drilled a 38-yard field goal with less than a minute left that proved to be the game-winner for the Raiders in their 26-23 victory at Baltimore. It was one of four field goals on the day for Carlson who connected from 53 and 51 yards out in the first half. He’s now made 27-of-34 field goals of 50+ yards since entering the league in 2018.

Jamel Dean, CB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Dean matched his career high with 10 tackles in Sunday’s win vs. the Detroit Lions. He played 85 snaps on defense and added his first pass break-up of the season, earning a coverage grade of 71.3 from PFF for his performance. Now in his sixth year, Dean is well on his way to making it five straight seasons with 50 or more tackles with the Buccaneers. He’s got 15 through the first two games.

Jamien Sherwood, LB, New York Jets
Thrust into action when linebacker C.J. Mosley left the game with a toe injury. Sherwood made the most of his opportunity Sunday. He co-led the team with nine tackles on defense, including one tackle for loss. He also added a pass break-up and three more tackles on special teams. Sherwood’s PFF grade (82.7) was highest among all defenders in the Jets’ 24-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans.
