Auburn Made: Week 4 NFL rundownAuburn Made: Week 4 NFL rundown

Jamel Dean, Derick Hall and Jamien Sherwood all graded out among the players on their respective defenses this past week per PFF while Tank Bigsby posted the highlight of the week with a 58-yard run.

That and more in this week’s Auburn Made NFL rundown.

BEST OF WEEK 4

Tank Bigsby, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Determined to make waves during his 2024 campaign, Bigsby rushed for 90 yards on seven carries, averaging 12.9 yards per carry in Sunday’s game vs. the Houston Texans. Though the Jaguars lost 24-20, Bigsby demolished his previous longest run, 12 yards, with a 58-yard scamper late in the third quarter. It was the fourth-longest run in the NFL this season, trailing only Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkey and J.K. Dobbins.

Jamel Dean, CB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Dean rolled out another solid performance in Sunday’s 33-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, earning an 86.1 PFF grade. It was the second-highest grade on the defense and the third-highest grade on the team. He recorded five tackles, three solo and two assisted, and added two pass break-ups to his resume. After four games, Dean has solidified himself as one of the team’s defensive leaders. He currently tops the Buccaneers in total tackles (33) and is tied for 11th in the NFL in solo tackles (23).

Derick Hall, LB, Seattle Seahawks

Hall turned out another electric performance in a Monday Night Football clash with the Detroit Lions. Hall logged four tackles, two solo and two assisted, and brought down Jared Goff with one hand for another sack – his third in the last two weeks. Through four games this season, he’s already racked up four sacks, one forced fumble and 13 total tackles. His four sacks lead the Seahawks and are tied for fifth in the league.

Jamien Sherwood, LB, New York Jets

Stepping in for the injured C.J. Mosley again, Sherwood made seven tackles, six solo, and one tackle for loss in Sunday’s 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos. In what was his 10th pro start and second straight start for the Jets, he secured the fourth-highest PFF grade (74.6) on the team. Sherwood has filled in admirably and played a significant role in the defense’s success early in the season.
