Auburn Made: Week 8 NFL rundownAuburn Made: Week 8 NFL rundown

Anders Carlson is making the most of his second chance with the 49ers. The former Auburn kicker made all three of his field goal attempts Sunday, including one from 50 yards out, to help secure the victory.

That and more in this week’s Auburn Made NFL rundown.

BEST OF WEEK 8

Tank Bigsby, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

With fellow running back Travis Etienne inactive, Bigsby carried the Jaguars' run game on his back in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Packers. The Georgia native rushed for 78 yards on 13 carries, averaging 4.3 yards per carry, and added two receptions for eight yards. According to Next Gen Stats, Bigsby ranks fourth in the NFL among running backs in yards per carry (5.8), continuing to impress in his second season.

Anders Carlson, K, San Francisco 49ers

A week after making a 55-yard field goal in his season debut with San Francisco, Carlson once again played a key role in the 49ers’ 30-24 rivalry win over Dallas on Sunday night. With starters Jake Moody and Matthew Wright injured, the former All-SEC kicker was promoted from the practice squad to starter for the second straight week. Carlson went 3-of-3 on field goals, converting kicks from 50, 44 and 41 yards, and he also made all three of his PAT attempts to secure a total of 12 points for San Francisco.

Roger McCreary, CB, Tennessee Titans

McCreary delivered an electric performance Sunday against the Detroit Lions. The third-year player and former second-round pick finished with three tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack. Trailing 7-0 in the first quarter, McCreary blitzed off the edge, shed off a block from the running back and sacked Jared Goff for a loss of 13 yards. It was McCreary’s first sack of the 2024 campaign and the third in his career.

Darius Slayton, WR, New York Giants

It was another solid performance from Slayton on Monday Night Football as he led the Giants with 108 yards on four receptions, averaging 27 yards per catch against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Early in the first quarter, Slayton hauled in a 43-yard reception to put New York in position to get on the board with a field goal. It was the longest reception by a Giants player all season.
