After playing his first six seasons in Tampa Bay, Carlton Davis has found a new home in Detroit this season and was instrumental in the Lions’ comeback win Sunday with two second-half interceptions.
That and more in this week’s Auburn Made NFL rundown.
BEST OF WEEK 10
Carlton Davis, CB, Detroit Lions
Davis played a crucial role in the Lions’ 26-23 come-from-behind victory over the Texans on Sunday night. The former second-round pick recorded four total tackles, but it was his two game-changing interceptions in the second half that ignited the comeback. Davis intercepted a pass on the first play of the second half and then again late in the third quarter when he came out of nowhere and snatched the ball away from a wide-open Tank Dell to prevent a touchdown. It was the first two picks of the season for Davis who earned the highest PFF grade (91.3) among all NFL cornerbacks for Week 10. He now has 11 career interceptions.

Roger McCreary, CB, Tennessee Titans
McCreary delivered another strong performance for the Titans this week with three tackles, all solo, one tackle for loss and one pass break-up. The third-year player thought he scored his first NFL touchdown, scooping up a fumble and returning it 20 yards to the end zone just before halftime. However, the touchdown was overturned after the officials ruled that Justin Herbert’s pass was incomplete.
Jeffery Simmons was BADLY held (no flag somehow) but fights through it to force a huge fumble, picked up and returned for a TD by Roger McCreary!

Jamien Sherwood, LB, New York Jets
It’s been a career year already for Sherwood, and it continued Sunday as the former Auburn star recorded a career-high 17 tackles, including seven solo stops and one tackle for loss against the Arizona Cardinals. It was his fifth game this season with 10 or more tackles. Through 10 games, Sherwood leads the Jets’ defense and is tied for fourth among all NFL players with 97 tackles. He also has seven tackles for loss and two sacks.
