Head coach Ryan Wochomurka and his squad are coming off a dominant performance in Atlanta on Tuesday against Georgia Tech. The Auburn women coasted to a 216-84 victory while the men bested the Yellowjackets, 203.5-96.5.
The Orange and Blue freshmen class on the women’s side has continued their early success into 2025. Audrey Crawford, Lora Komoroczy and Julia Strojnowska all collected individual wins against Georgia Tech.
Komoroczy and Strojnowska are tied with the most individual wins this season with four apiece. Komoroczy, the Hungary native, has hit the wall first in the 100 back in three of the four meets she’s swam in as a Tiger. Strojnowska, the distance specialist, has a pair of wins in both the 500 and 1000 free.
Entering Saturday’s dual with the Gamecocks, Auburn women have accounted for 29 NCAA B cuts and two A cuts in the 200 free and 200 medley relays. The Tigers sit No. 19 in the latest CSCAA Coaches Poll and will lock up against No. 22 South Carolina. It’s the second ranked matchup for the Orange and Blue this season. The Auburn women previously beat No. 21 North Carolina, 154-146 back in October.
Wochomurka’s men’s team is riding momentum from a strong start to the new year in Atlanta. Led by veterans Mason Mathias and Nate Stoffle, the Tigers swept five events against the Yellowjackets. Entering Saturday, Stoffle owns the eighth-fastest time in the country in both the 100 and 200 back. Meanwhile, Mathias’ 500 free time sits at No. 11 in the nation.
Danny Schmidt (200 fly), Britton Spann (200 breast) and Jon VanZandt (200 free) also picked up their first wins of the season versus Georgia Tech.
Head diving coach John Fox’s crew has been equally impressive throughout 2024-25.
Kyleigh Kidd delivered a career-best 339.75 to pick up a win on the 3-meter on Tuesday. Between Kidd, freshman Emily Hallifax and Abigail Farrar, the Tigers have pieced together five top-10 performances in Auburn history this season, including Hallifax’s 318.30 on platform, the closest score to Vennie Dantin’s school record since Anna Aguero in 2011.
On the men’s side, Whit Andrus came close to a personal best at Georgia Tech on 3-meter with a sturdy 391.13. Ethan Swart has already pocketed diver of the week honors this season as well. Andrus, Swart, Talan Blackmon and Travis Keith have all collected zones scores in all three disciplines.
